Day Rate with Full Size Steadicam Rig & Accessories in the Chicago Area
Full Size Steadicam EFP Rig (for cameras up to 33 pounds) or Steadicam Flyer LE (for payloads up to 18 pounds)
Steadicam Rate for Film and HD shoots For up to 8 hours on location. Includes rig, wireless focus control, video transmitter, down converter, etc. View Equipment list >	$800.00
Overtime $70 per hour	$70.00
Travel Charge Beyond 20 miles	.50 per mile

Small Steadicam Pilot Rig (for cameras up to 10 pounds)

Half-day rate for Steadicam Pilot for small format DV cameras For up to 5 hours on location. Includes Pilot rig and video transmitter.	$500.00
Overtime $60 per hour	$60.00
Camera Additional charge if I supply one of my cameras: Canon 7D, HMC150, etc.	$100.00
Special Rate options for Independent Projects

Independent Rate (Personal Projects, Student, Non-Profits) For up to 8 hours on location. To keep my indie rates low I offer some accessories as a la Carte options. Red Cam shoots book at a $500 minimum but do include the remote focus, downconverter and video transmitter. However, I am willing to negotiate lower rates for shoots with modest Steadicam needs in the Chicago area. Indie Terms & Conditions >	$400.00

I have been a paid Steadicam Operator on well over 70 student film projects since 1995. The majority of these were shot on 16mm film and originated from Northwestern University and Columbia College in Chicago. In 2010 I began working on DePaul University and Flashpoint Academy projects, typically shot on the Red Cam. Since 2003 I've done Steadicam shooting for BONEdanse|Breakbone DanceCo documenting both live performances and shooting site specific pieces utilizing Steadicam Videography. Since 2008 I’ve done Steadicam shooting for performance documentaion and dance films for Cindy Brandle Dance Company, Colleen Halloran Films, Julia Rae Antonick, Khecari Dance Theatre, Nadia Oussenko, The Space / Movement Project, Synapse Arts Collective, and ThisWayUp.TV.

Weddings

In 2009 I began doing wedding coverage with my smaller Steadicam rig (Pilot) and small camcorders (DV and HDV). In 2010 I shot DSLR weddings in Chicago with the Canon 7D on the Pilot rig for Andrew Collings Photography, Delack Media Group, Orange Video Production and Xpress Video Productions.
